First election victory
Elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from the Kudligi constituency, securing 54,443 votes in his first contest as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.
Re-elected from Kudligi
Returned to the Assembly with an increased vote count of 71,477, winning Kudligi for a second consecutive term — a clear sign of growing constituent trust.
Bellary Rural — new constituency, new chapter
Contested and won the Bellary Rural seat as an Indian National Congress candidate, securing 79,186 votes. The win marked his transition to one of Ballari district's most populous rural constituencies.
Decisive re-election
Won Bellary Rural again with 1,03,836 votes, defeating his nearest rival by a margin of over 29,000 — one of the strongest mandates in the district that year.
Inducted into the Karnataka Cabinet
Appointed Minister of Youth Services & Sports and Minister for Scheduled Tribes Welfare in the Second Siddaramaiah Ministry — bringing the voice of rural Bellary to the State government's policy table.
Serving Bellary Rural
Continuing as the elected Member of Legislative Assembly for Bellary Rural — focused on irrigation, rural infrastructure, youth opportunity and welfare for SC/ST communities across the constituency.
